Installation
Burundi has no official pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
This installation exists as a solidarity act: three works on
alienhood — legal, technological, cosmic —
nested as a guest within Domus Diasporica, the Bosnia
and Herzegovina Pavilion invited by artist Mladen Bundalo.
Undocumented and unable to travel, the artist contributes
from exile in Brussels. The three frames hang on a white wall
whose green and red have been washed away — the colors of
the Burundian flag dissolved, its three stars replaced by a
trio of alien artworks made in a land of political refuge.
